Dr. Behrend Freese / CEO

Behrend has more than 10 years experience in technology and venture management. Before he co-founded Zimory, he served as an Innovation and Venture Manager for Deutsche Telekom Laboratories, a newly founded entity, based in Berlin, Germany. The entity conducts pioneering research into innovative information and telecommunication technologies with a pronounced market emphasis. Prior to joining Deutsche Telekom, Laboratories, Behrend worked as an Investment Manager for Allianz Venture Partners and J.P. Morgan. Prior to that, he worked at the Computational & Biological Vision Lab at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles.

Behrend studied physics at the Georg-August-University, Göttingen and at the University of Edinburgh. He received his degree from the Ruhr-University, Bochum, and his PhD degree in Economics with research work on inter-organizational success factors of corporate venture capital companies at the University of Bern in collaboration with the York University, Schulich School of Business in Toronto.

Maximilian Ahrens / COO

Maximilian is an expert and frequent speaker on international conferences for software oriented architecture and virtualization. Before he co-founded Zimory, he served as a Project Manager and Research Scientist at the innovation development entity of Deutsche Telekom Laboratories. Being responsible for infrastructure and enterprise IT projects spanning multiple divisions of the Deutsche Telekom group, he is an expert for enterprise IT and business process topics. Before that he has been leading the business process reengineering projects for major German companies.

Maximilian obtained his diploma in Industrial Engineering from the Berlin Technical University.
